Vadodara, as it is popularly known, is situated in Gujarat. The former capital of the Gaekwad rajas, it is a noisy industrial town.
Sayaji Bagh - Vadodara’s chief attraction is the Sayaji Bagh, the large green park whose main entrance is on the Tilak Road.The Sayaji Bagh contains a planetarium that offers a 35 mts. show daily, except on Thursday.
Vadodara Musuem - The Vadodara Museum and the Picture gallery (daily 10am-5pm, entrance Rs. 1) hold art and textile exhibits from all over the world.
The Laxmi Niwas Palace is to the south of the town and is the most extravagant of Vadodara’s Palaces. It is now a heritage hotel. The Maharajah Fateh Singh Museum is in the palace grounds
