GWALIOR





A large and magnificent fort built on a hill dominates the city of Gwalior and tales of chivalry and valour are part of its colourful history.

 SHIVPURI









In the cool of forested hills, is shivpuri, a summer retreat of the Maharajas of Gwalior. The forests, where they once hunted tigers, are now part of the Madhav National Park.

ORCHHA






A medieval town built in the 16th and 17th centuries by the bundela Rajput Kings, Orchha seems untouched by time.

Places of interest: Jehangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, Ram Raja Temple, Chaturbhuj Temple, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Cenotaphs, Rai Parveen Mahal.

KHAJURAHO






Extraordinary temples rise spire upon spire like a mirage in the middle of nowhere. Built by the Chandela Kings in the 10th century, just 22 of the original 85 temples still remain. Their tall spires are balanced with  horizontal bands of the most dazzling profusion of carved figures, animals, trees, chariots-sculpted with unerring perfection.

Kandariya Mahadev and the Lakshmana Temple, Chitragupta, Vishvnath, Chausath Yogini and Jain Temples.

Located in the heart of India is Sanchi, with some of the finest examples of the Buddhist architecture in the country .
