ALMORA CITY GUIDE

It is one of the most beautiful  hill stations in Uttaranchal state. Almora is bigger than Kausani and Raniket.  Mother Nature has given her choicest blessings to the this small exotic hill town. Surrounded by forests, pine and fir trees, with snow draped Himalayas as its background, small houses on the slopes and stone pavements, Almora is a treat for your eyes.

Situated 1650 mtrs above the sea level, it was the capital of Kumaon during the reign of the Chand Rajas in the 16th century. In 1790 it was taken over by the Nepali Gorkhas and later passed into British hands in 1815.
