Retiring rooms and dormitories :

Retiring Rooms and dormitories (both AC and Non - AC) provided at major stations on East Coast. Railway can server as your transit accommodation. Only those holding valid tickets for inward/outward journey are eligible to make use of this amenity. It is available at very reasonable cost.

How to get accommodation at the retiring Rooms and Dormitories.

Vacancy positions are generally notified on the Notice Board near Enquiry Counter. Otherwise the vacancy position may be ascertained from Station Manager/Chief Booking Supervisor. Room/Bed will be allotted, if available, after verification of your ticket. You will also be required to pay stipulated charges before the keys of the room are  handed over or the bed number in the Dormitory is allotted to you. You can also reserve accommodation in Retiring Room/Dormitory in advance by depositing necessary charges in cash at the station concerned or by sending  Money Order in favour of Station Superintendent of the station concerned duly furnishing the train number, date of arrival and ticket/PNR No etc.

Please Note: 

Charges for retiring room/Dormitory is calculated for 24 hours or part thereof. Charges will be collected for the full day irrespective of hours of stay.

a). While single bed can be allotted in the Dormitory, in the Retiring Room both the Beds are allotted to the same party to ensure safety and security of the occupants.

b). In relatively unimportant railway stations where in a double bedded or triple bedded room, a single bed is allotted , the single bed charges will be realized @60 % of the tariff of double bedded room and 40% in the case, a single bed is allotted in a triple bedded room.

Maximum numbers of days allotted for stay in 2 days only. No extension beyond this will be granted.

In case occupation is for more than one day, charges for subsequent days will be 25% more for each day.

Do not cause inconvenience to other occupants of the Retiring Room/Dormitories. If any loss/damage to railway property is noticed during your occupation you will be asked to compensate the same before vacating.

While vacating the Rooms please inform the in-charge and hand over keys.

Refreshment Room 

Refreshment Rooms, both veg and nov-veg are available at certain stations where you can get hygienic food at reasonable cost. List of stations where this facility is available can be seen at "Amenities available at selected stations". 

The service timing at refreshment room vary from station to station depending on the arrival and departure of important trains. You may therefore check the timings before you place orders.
